THE teenager who died tragically in a bike crash this weekend in Halesowen has been named as Tom Oakes.
The 19-year-old ploughed a 125cc Yamaha into railings on the junction of Coombs Road and Amber Way at 6.50pm on Saturday and died at the scene.
Flowers have been laid at the spot where the accident happened and friends have taken to the internet to pay tribute to the popular young man.
One Halesowen News reader wrote: “No words can describe how we feel for the loss of a lovely young man, such a credit to his mum, our heartfelt wishes to his family.”
Josh Migate wrote on Twitter: “It was an honour to have known such a great guy, rest in peace Tom.”
Samantha Szekula added on Twitter: “Rest in peace Tom, your memories will always be in my heart and our memories will stay with me forever.”
And Twitter user Nellie Povey added: “He was one of the nicest young men I knew, and I'm honoured to have had him as a good friend, I'll miss him so much.”
