THE man accused of murdering Halesowen schoolgirl Christina Edkins is due back in court today (Friday) for a plea and case management hearing.
Phillip Simelane, from Walsall, is accused of murdering 16-year-old Christina as she travelled on a bus to her school in Halesowen.
Christina was stabbed as she sat on the top deck of a bus as it headed along Hagley Road at around 7.30am on March 7. She died at the scene.
Simelane, aged 22, last appeared in court on May 31 where he was deemed unfit to stand trial.
In May the court heard how doctors deemed Simelane unfit to plead or stand trial, due to his mental health.
The prosecution stated that further psychiatric assessments will be carried out, the results of which should be presented to the court today.
