The world's local bank HSBC announces closure of Blackheath branch
1:33pm Wednesday 11th September 2013 in News
GIANT global bank HSBC has announced it is closing its Blackheath High Street branch.
A spokesman for HSBC said: “We are constantly evolving and developing our services. And with the growth of telephone and internet banking in recent years, this has naturally resulted in some branches being used less often.
“Therefore after careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to close our branch at High Street, Blackheath.”
Halesowen North UKIP campaigner Stuart Henley slammed the decision.
He said: “This is not good news for all local people and we should rally round and try and stop yet another closure.
“Customers should write to HSBC and demand they keep the branch open because the Cradley Heath branch is a lot quieter than Blackheath.”
