MIDLANDS poet Spoz brought wit, words and wonder during a visit to a Halesowen school.
Year eight pupils at Leasowes High School were challenged to step up and battle using only words as their weapons, writing their own performance poems and presenting them in front of their peers.
Spoz - Giovanni Esposito - is well-known for his political and thought-provoking personal verse and English teacher Jo Hodson said the pupils enjoyed seeing poetry done professionally.
She added: "We're committed to raising engagement and achievement through hands-on activities.
“There are some things that have more power when experienced in this way, rather than read in a book.”web
