A HALESOWEN running club is hosting its annual five kilometre race over the Clent Hills this weekend.
The Cobra Classic, which starts and finishes at the Hill Tavern, Adams Hill, Clent is organised by Cobra Running and Triathlon Club in memory of a former member Mark Perry.
Father-of-the three Mark Perry died in a tragic accident after a night out in 2009 and the Cobra Classic is run annually in his memory.
Chairman of Cobra Running Club Steve Fletcher said: “The course is a tough one, but a great challenge with beautiful country views.
“This is one of the attractions, along with the friendly atmosphere at this great event, which is held each year in fond memory of a much-loved member.”
“Our motto is Running for Fitness, Running for Fun and our Wednesday beginners’ nights have been a great success.”
He added: “Runners who can already complete 5 miles non-stop are welcome to try Cobra’s Tuesday or Thursday sessions, based at Halesowen Pool.
“Newcomers are impressed by the friendly welcome they receive, and nobody gets left behind.”
