RUNNERS from across the country will descend on Halesowen this Sunday for the Great Black Country Run.
There is still time to register for either the 10 kilometre road race or the five kilometre fun run, runners can register online or on the day.
Organisers are expecting a huge turn out on the day for the event - which is one of the biggest in the town’s social calendar.
Rotarian Alan Bowler, race organiser, said: “We will have at least 500 runners on the day and with all their families and supporters the town centre will be really buzzing.
“People can still register to run and will be able to up until 15 minutes before the races begin.”
Halesowen’s European kickboxing champion Simon Akufo is starting both races.
He said: “It should be a wonderful day in Halesowen at will be great so many people enjoying themselves whilst exercising.”
Staff from Fitness Works 2000 will be holding a “fun run warm up” in Somers Square for any runners who want to limber up to some music before the fun run.
There is still time to register for either the 10km road race at 9am and the fun run at 11am - visit www.greatblackcountryrun.com or turn up on the day and register 15 minutes before the race.
