Halesowen and Stourbridge leisure centres raising cash for charity
8:00am Tuesday 24th September 2013 in News
Leisure centre staff in Halesowen and Stourbridge are hoping to raise cash for charity with a coffee morning.
Halesowen and Crystal leisure centres are holding cake sales to raise money as part of Macmillan’s worlds biggest coffee morning.
Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: "I hope people will drop in to one of the coffee mornings at the centres to help support this fantastic charity.”
Halesowen Leisure Centre will be selling cakes and hot drinks for a donation to the cancer charity from 7.30am on Thursday, September 26.
Staff are also inviting bakers of all ages and abilities to enter a cake into a baking competition which will be judged by the Mayor of Dudley. Cakes can be entered into two categories, best design or best taste with the winner of the best design category to be auctioned on the day.
Staff at Crystal Leisure Centre in Stourbridge will be holding a tea and cake morning on Friday, September 27 from 10.30am. People can drop in to the Aquamarine Bar on the first floor for a drink and slice of cake for a £2 donation.
All proceeds will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
