A NEW police inspector has taken the helm in Oldbury and Rowley Regis following the departure of his predecessor who held the role for five years.
Insp Lee Bartram is taking up the post covering South Sandwell, swapping positions with Insp Ian Massey who becomes response inspector at West Bromwich.
Insp Bartram said: "Ian has done a fantastic job as sector inspector in South Sandwell. There have been a number of quite significant changes in recent months but Ian and his officers have continued to address local issues and concerns and steadily reduced crime.
"It will be a challenge to take this forward, but it is one that I am really looking forward to and I hope to further build on Ian's success."
Insp Massey described his time in the area as “the most professionally rewarding” of his career.
