A MAJOR route in Halesowen is set to close for overhanging trees to get the chop before they drop branches on the road.
The A456 Manor Way, westbound, will shut on Sunday October 20 and Sunday October 27 from 6am for work during daylight hours.
The A456 Manor Way, westbound only, between Grange roundabout and Hayley Green roundabout, will be affected. The diversion for westbound traffic will be via Grange Road, Queensway and Hagley Road.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for transportation, said: “We want to keep disruption for motorists to a minimum. All options for carrying out the work were carefully considered, but due to the size of some of the trees, and the equipment and working space required, it can only be carried out safely with a carriageway closure.”
