The following appeared in Dudley Magistrates Court between October 14-18:
Harry James Bennett, aged 21, of Wesley Road, Pensnett, was sent to prison for eight weeks for assaulting a man on May 4 in Pensnett. The assault was racially aggravated.
Mark Stuart Edge, aged 29, of Dunns Bank, Quarry Bank, was sent to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months for entering Merry Hill as a trespasser on August 8 and stealing approximately £100 cash and again on August 16, stealing 289 watches, 50 rings, two charms and £28.44 in cash. He was also sentenced for stealing curtains, worth £150, from BHS, Merry Hill, on October 4. He was ordered to pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £80 and £85 court costs.
Daljindrer Singh Chatta, aged 29, of Peel Way, Tividale, proprietor of Five Star Fish Bar, Baptist End Road, Netherton, was fined £7,500 after pleading guilty to 10 offences under the food hygiene regulations. The offences included inadequate hand wash facilities, failure to keep refrigerator, freezer and fryer clean and failure to ensure ingredients were protected from contamination, as a dirty mop bucket was being stored directly on top of an opened bag of spicy chicken breading mix. Chatta was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £120 and £1,639 court costs.
Martyn Steven Hale, aged 31, of Fullwood Crescent, Holly Hall, was given a 12 month community order for stealing meat products, worth £42.45, from Sainsbury’s, Merry Hill, on August 13 and stealing two tins of SMA baby milk, worth £21.98, from Toys R Us, Brierley Hill, on September 9. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.
David Leigh Adams, aged 33, of St Georges Road, Dudley, was fined £180 for possessing cannabis and amphetamine in Dudley on September 29. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.
John Michael Newey, aged 32, of Wynall Lane, Wollescote, was given a four month community order for stealing eight bottles of fabric softener, worth £36.72 and 10 cans of Lynx deodorant, worth £27.50, from Costcutter, Stourbridge on October 7. He was given a four month curfew and will be electronically monitored to ensure that he remains at his home address between 8pm and 8am during this time. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £64.22 and a victim surcharge of £60.
Ricki Junior Wilson, aged 22, of Wrens Nest Road, Dudley, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for causing £340 worth of damage to a glass window in Dudley on June 2. He was ordered to pay compensation of £340, a victim surcharge of £15 and £85 court costs.
Michael Dilworth, aged 28, of Titford Road, Oldbury, was sent to prison for 14 weeks, suspended for 12 months for driving dangerously in Dudley on June 4 without a licence or insurance. He was disqualified from obtaining a driving licence for 18 months, ordered to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work and fined £250. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and £250 court costs.
Laura Duckhouse, aged 32, of Cot Lane, Kingswinford, was given a 12 month community order for stealing a handbag in Kingswinford on July 11. She was ordered to pay compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.
Sharnjeet Singh Virk, aged 45, of Wellington Road, Dudley, was fined £375 for driving through a red light, without due care and attention in Dudley on October 13. He was given six penalty points and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £38 and £350 court costs.
