A HELL raising Halesowen woman who smashed a wine glass into the face of an innocent lady in a pub has been banned from going out after dark for six months.

Charlotte Church, aged 26, scarred her victim Hannah Parsons on the forehead during the ugly incident at the Stag and Three Horseshoes pub.

Wolverhampton Crown Court heard Church, who was abusive to police officers after the incident, had previously bitten two people in separate incidents before the graduating to glassing her foes.

Judge Robin Onions told Church: "I don't think you are safe to be out in the community with other people because when you are you can be a very unpleasant person.

"Here you are again going out to a pub and drinking far more than was good for you.”

He added: "There was a trivial incident and your response was to lash out with a glass in your hand. I have not seen much evidence of remorse from you for what you did."

Church, of Long Lane, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and she was given a 16 month jail term suspended for two years.

She was further placed on supervision for 18 months and ordered to obey a six month curfew order between the hours of 8pm and 6am.

The judge further said she must carry out 125 hours unpaid work in the community, pay £750 compensation to Miss Parsons and £250 towards the costs of the case.

He also barred her from entering the Stag and Three Horseshoes in Halesowen Road for the next two years.

Philip Brunt, prosecuting, said Church made a comment to Miss Parsons before hitting her on the head with the glass when she "struck out for no reason."

After her arrest Church was clearly intoxicated, she was abusive to police officers and she continued to be obstructive at the police station.

Simon Williams, defending, said Church had not appreciated the glass was in her hand when she swung out at Miss Parsons after claiming there had been an altercation between the pair.

He said: "She fully accepts she was responsible for what happened and that she should have dealt with the matter differently."
