GRIEVING Halesowen residents can raise money for charity whilst remembering a lost loved one over the Christmas period.

Age Concern Stourbridge and Halesowen are holding a switch on event for their memory tree on the Friday, December 13 at the Elton Centre, St Johns Road, Stourbridge, at 4pm. The Mayor of Dudley, Cllr Alan Finch, and Stourbridge MP Margot James will be attending.

The tree, which has been donated by Roberts Farm, will be decorated with memory tags.

These decorations are then dedicated to departed loved ones as an alternative way to remember them during the festive period.

Each tag costs £3 and white silk roses will also be on sale for £2 to attach to the tree.

Mulled wine and mince pies supplied by Sainsbury's will be served at the event.

Age Concern Stourbridge and Halesowen works for older people to promote wellbeing and good health, fight discrimination and unfair treatment and ensure that lives continue to be fulfilled and enjoyable no matter of age.
