Muslim group to run Halesowen litterpick

First published in News

A GROUP of Muslims will be out in force litter picking in Halesowen tomorrow.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association's litterpick is the latest in a series of multi-faith clean ups.

Youth leader Wasim Shah said: "As a Muslim we believe that cleanliness is a requirement of faith.

“We would like to invite local faith leaders, neighbours, police and councillors to join us in this session, for a common cause.”

Litter pickers are invited to meet at the Baitul Gafoor Mosque, Long Lane, at 12.30pm.

It was great to see a combined community spirit on Sunday. Over 30 bags of rubbish were collected. Both local councillors and West Midlands Police got involved to assist the Baitful Gafoor Mosque volunteers. It is so important to make Halesowen a Town we can be proud of. This is not just where we live, it is our community.
