POLICE are appealing to people in Halesowen to keep a lookout for a distinctive stolen watch which was taken from a home in Hagley.

The engraved gold watch, inscribed J V Lowe BR, was among jewellery stolen from a bungalow in Park Road between 3pm and 9.30pm on Monday December 3.

West Mercia Police say a rear window on the bungalow was forced causing £150 worth of damage.

The stolen watch had a leather strap and the initials BR stand for British Railways.

Other items taken included two large jewellery boxes, including a black leatherette-style one with a handle on top, a pearl necklace, gold chains, an engagement ring which was a diamond cluster with a large central diamond, a watch with a gold square-shaped face with a black strap, an Omega Seamaster chronograph watch, gold earrings, and a Fiat box from Italy which contained several necklaces.

Detectives from West Mercia are now liaising with colleagues at West Midlands Police as they believe there may be an attempt to sell the items in the Black Country, in particular the Halesowen area.

Anyone with information, including witnesses to the burglary or anyone who sees the items offered for sale, should contact Detective Constable Vicky Collier at West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 0300 333 3000 quoting incident 692-s-021213, or call independent charity Crimestoppers (anonymously) on 0800 555111.
