A DISORIENTATED Colley Gate woman who drove the wrong way along the M5 has been charged with dangerous driving.
Katy Homer, Clent View, will appear at Warley Magistrates Court on Tuesday, January 9 to face the charge along with a further charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
It's alleged the 26-year-old care worker drove towards oncoming traffic along a stretch of the M5 in the early hours of last Wednesday before leaving the motorway on the southbound entry slip road at junction 1.
The charge comes in the opening week of West Midlands Police's Christmas campaign to reduce drink driving over the festive period.
As a deterrent to drivers thinking of having a drink every person charged with drink or drug driving offences is being named throughout the four-month campaign on the West Midlands Police website.
