HALESOWEN Street in Rowley Regis has been temporarily shut for emergency repairs to a burst water main which could leave some residents without water.

Traffic and buses are affected as South Staffs Water carries out the repairs and bus passengers will need to use a different stop on the route.

A SSW spokesman said: "We are currently working to repair the burst main; until the burst is isolated we are unable to confirm exactly how long this will take, but at the latest it is expected that it will be tomorrow (Thursday) evening when the work is completed and the road will remain closed until it is.

"Customers may find they are without a water supply for around 90 minutes when the eight inch main is ready for repair and members of staff are in the area informing them of this."

A diversion is in operation from the roundabout at the end of the street via Long Lane and Horner Way.

Customer services director for SSW, Rachel Barber said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and will carry out the necessary repairs as quickly as we can.”
