A TOP cosmetic surgeon, based at the West Midlands Hospital, Halesowen, has been recognised for his training excellence.

Dalvi Humzah, whose private practice Plastic and Dermatological Surgery, is based at the hospital, has been named Training Provider of the Year in the Aesthetic Awards.

The surgeon, who unveiled the truth behind so-called ‘miracle’ beauty creams on Channel 4’s Dispatches, was also a finalist in the Speaker of the Year category.

Mr Humzah was recognised for his facial anatomy training delivered at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Facial Anatomy Technique Training.

Most recently, he organised facial anatomy teaching at Glasgow University’s clinical anatomy skills centre and toured the Far East on behalf of international pharmaceutical specialist Merz and Galderma, visiting Singapore, Taiwan and Korea.

The last 12 months has seen Mr Humzah give keynote speeches at many of the industry’s top conferences around the world, including Moscow, Coventry and Monaco.

He said: “As a regular campaigner for improved standards for patients, it is an honour to be recognised for our achievements. The awards do a fantastic job in celebrating high standards and excellence in the industry.”

Mr Humzah, who is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, has also appeared on the hit TV show Embarrassing Bodies, where he carried out surgery on patients with sensitive cosmetic conditions which were damaging their confidence.
