GENEROUS shoppers donated armfuls of toys for a Salvation Army appeal at Blackheath’s Sainsbury’s supermarket.
The toys have been passed onto Sandwell Women’s Aid, which had only the day before put in a plea for help to the Army.
Commanding officer Lieutenant Lydia Barlett visited the store to collect the toys from team leader Matt Fereday.
Store manager Denver Martin said: “We would like to thank all our customers at Blackheath who kindly gave new toys and cash donations - which were used to buy toys also - to give families a much-needed boost at this time of year.”
