A VIOLENT Cradley Heath husband has been jailed after a brutally attack on his wife.
Edward Round beat his wife Kerri, leaving her bruised and battered and needing hospital treatment for cuts, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.
The 28-year-old, who had previous convictions for violence against her, was jailed for a year.
Judge Nicholas Webb said Round had grabbed his wife by the hair before dragging her to the ground where she was viciously kicked in the stomach and about the head.
"She was given a good beating," said the judge, who also made a restraining order forbidding Round from having any contact with his wife.
Round, of The Crescent, Haden Hill, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and also resisting arrest.
He further admitted the offences breached a community order imposed in May this year on a charge of battery against his wife and stealing property including her mobile telephone.
The judge told him: "You have been committing criminal acts against her for some time and some of the offences were deeply unpleasant."
Geoffrey Dann, prosecuting, said the attack came after the couple had been out drinking.
Jas Mann, defending, said the relationship had irretrievably broken down and Round accepted he had behaved badly.
