A BLACK Country guitar teacher has received rave reviews following the release of his debut instrumental album.

Des Sherwood, of Halesowen, has spent years honing his craft and his passion for guitar playing and music has resulted in the 15 track CD, entitled The Music Room.

The 45-year-old said the album, which took two years to make, features soaring ballads, hard rock songs and intimate acoustic songs that portray "a wide range of human emotions".

Although he has spent the last 25 years playing for various bands, the self-employed guitar tutor has gone solo on this project.

He said: "I recorded this myself, produced it and did the artwork. The reaction has been really good, I've had a lot of great reviews on iTunes and Amazon."
