CYCLISTS are being encouraged to beat the winter blues by getting on their bikes and seeing the beautiful views the borough has to offer.

Following the success of a summer cycling programme, Dudley Council is helping to promote a series of Sunday bike rides organised by local cycling enthusiasts.

The rides, which take place on Sundays, cover three different routes around the borough taking in roads, parks, canals and countryside.

Those looking for an easygoing ride will enjoy the Coseley West Loop, which will set off fromSilver Jubilee Park's activity centre on January 26 and February 16.

The Three Counties Tour is a steady ride, which meets at the car park in Stanley Road by Mary Stevens Park. This ride will be held on 12 January, 2 February, and 23 February.

Experienced cyclists can take part in the challenging Kinver Climber on January 19 and February 9, which will set off from the hub building at Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge.

The rides are suitable for experienced riders over the age of 16.

Cycle helmets are recommended.
