STARTIME Variety is pulling out all the stops and preparing the porridge for its production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

The Halesowen theatre group is staging its annual pantomime at the Cornbow Hall from Wednesday, January 29 to Saturday, February 1.

Jeanette Greenway, from Startime Variety, is looking forward to the production which is a modern take on the classic children's tale.

She said: "As well as the usual characters of Goldilocks and the three bears there are also some funny characters such as Silas, Willy and Dick and a funny Russian Lady and Dolly the Dame.

"A rival circus owner is trying every dirty trick he can think of to drive Dolly Folly’s hard-working troupe out of business."

She added: "Will Silas Sneak and his evil henchmen break the spirit of the circus, or will Dolly’s daughter, Goldilocks, be able to save the day?

"Where do all the bears fit into this, well people will have to come along and find out, it promises to be very entertaining."

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is at the Cornbow Hall from January 29 to February 1, performances start at 7.15pm and the Saturday matinee starts at 2.15pm.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £8.50 for senior citizens and children under 16, and there is a £35 family ticket, all tickets for the Saturday evening performance are £12.
