HUNDREDS of bikers turned out in support of a 26-year-old Colley Gate man, who has terminal cancer, as he fulfilled his dream of riding a Harley Davidson.
Brandon Carter was “bowled over” by the turnout at Halesowen’s Streetbike as 275 machines set off in convoy from the Mucklow Hill business to Quatt cafe, near Bridgnorth on Sunday.
The trip was originally planned as a small gathering but as word spread through Facebook more and more of the biking fraternity joined in.
As well as accompanying Mr Carter on his dream ride, they raised more than £650 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Streetbike marketing director Carl Dodds said he was “delighted” the bikers had wanted to set off from the store.
He said: “It was absolutely excellent, the weather wasn’t great, but the police were brilliant, and there was a group of volunteer marshals which I didn’t even know existed.”
Mr Dodds added an album of photographs of the event on the company’s Facebook page attracted 32,000 views.
