MOTORISTS are awaiting the reopening of Woods Lane in Cradley Heath - over a week after the barriers on the level crossing were damaged.
Network Rail promised the barriers at Cradley Heath railway station would be replaced and the road reopened immediately after a vehicle crashed into the crossing last Monday afternoon.
Cradley Heath resident and Labour's parliamentary candidate for Halesowen and Rowley Regis Stephanie Peacock said: "The delay is stopping people getting about and has written to Network Rail to ask what is causing the problem.
"Figures announced this week show that Network Rail has spent £130m on closing 10 per cent of the country's level crossings since 2010."
Network Rail confirmed they have yet to fix the barriers and "are working to replace" them.
