LOVE will be in the air at Halesowen College when its training restaurant holds a romantic Valentine's night celebration.

A special hearts and flowers menu is on offer on Wednesday and Thursday February 12 and 13 at the Whittingham Road site.

The menu includes starters of celeriac and pear soup, roasted monkfish wrapped in smoked salmon on a bed of rice noodles with chilli dressing or tomato tartlet with an olive oil and parmesan crust with crème fraiche.

Main courses include pan fried seabass on crushed garlicky new potatoes with a rosemary cream sauce and pea puree, beef tenderloin with potato gnocchi and roasted root vegetables or squash risotto with thyme and mascarpone.

The meal will be completed with a sweet selection made by our bakery students followed by coffee.

Students have planned the menu and will prepare the food and decorate the restaurant.

Student Carlia Goode, from the BTEC planning team, said: “Couples are welcome to come along and share their special romantic night at the college. We’ll have fantastic food and a great atmosphere.”

Pre-dinner aperitifs will be served at at 6.45pm, with dinner at 7pm and the price is £14.95.
