ANIMAL lovers are being asked to donate their unwanted treasures and furniture to a Stourbridge charity shop, to help raise vital funds for sick and injured pets.

PDSA is appealing for supporters to bring good quality items, including clothes, shoes, bags, books and toys, to its store on Ryemarket.

Store manager, Maria Perry, said: “Charity shops are an Aladdin’s cave of treasures and trinkets and as more people are turning to vintage and retro themes to them furnish their homes, we have noticed more customers looking for furniture bargains.

“We are also always on the hunt for a wide range of goods that could help us raise money for sick and injured pets across the UK. "Many of our supporters say that donating not only makes them feel good for helping such a worthwhile cause, but it also gives them an excuse to have a good old fashioned spring clean.”

For health and safety reasons, the charity can only accept furniture that has the fire-warning label relating to the 1988 regulations.
