CHILDREN can swim for free at Sandwell’s leisure centres during school holidays. Kids can get signed up now to enjoy free swimming during next week’s half-term break.
Young people aged 16 and under who live in Sandwell can swim for free at Tipton, Smethwick Langley and Haden Hill leisure centres during all school holidays.
Plus anyone aged 60 or above can also swim for free before 1pm every day.
Councillor Paul Moore, the council’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “We’ve got some great swimming facilities in Sandwell and I think it’s fantastic that we can offer free swimming for kids during the school holiday.”
He added: "We are committed to helping people stay active and we hope this, as well as free swimming for over 60s, will enable lots more people to enjoy swimming.”
Sandwell’s Leisure Centres are run by Sandwell Leisure Trust. To sign up for free swimming, visit the Sandwell Leisure Trust website at www.slt-leisure.co.uk or ask at your local swimming centre.
