STAFF and pupils at a Rowley Regis school have taken delivery of a new electric piano paid for by the PTA with help from the supplier.

The instrument will be used in music lessons at Westminster Special School and by its Glee Club, which performs at venues around the town.

A festive fet e run by the school’s new PTA last December raised almost £700 towards the cost and Wayne Merrick of Colbecks music shop, Sutton Coldfield, agreed to part fund the instrument.

Assistant headteacher David Manns said the club was very popular, but its old keyboard had been damaged in transit to a gig.

He added: “We are very grateful for all of the hard work of the PTA and Mr Merrick’s generous contribution.”
