POLICE are pinning their hopes on Halesowen revellers remembering a brutal attack in a Halesowen nightclub when a mother and her daughter were bottled.

The disturbing incident, which resulted in two woman sustaining severe injuries, happened at Benjamins nightclub in the early hours of Saturday, November 16.

Detectives this week released CCTV images of both the suspected attacker and of the daughter's injuries in a bid to bring the culprit to justice.

The two women were enjoying a night out when their attacker took offence at the younger woman refusing to dance with him.

He smashed the bottle he was holding and hit her over the head with it.

The girl’s mother intervened and was also struck with the jagged glass.

Both women suffered deep lacerations which needed stitches at hospital.

DC Dave Hackett, from Force CID, said: “I am convinced that someone would have seen the incident and remembered this unprovoked attack on the dance floor of a busy club.

“I would also appeal to the friends of the attacker, whom I believe were present, and will have key information which can assist our investigation.

“This attack has been a life changing event for the mum and her daughter and I would urge anyone who can help to contact us immediately."

In December last year a 26-year-old local man was arrested, but was subsequently released without charge.

Witnesses are urged tob call DC Hackett on 101 or alternatively information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
