A NEW Co-op store has opened in Halesowen – creating 10 extra jobs.

The food store in Spies Lane replaces the nearby Manor Lane Co-op which closed to make way for the new bigger branch.

A Central England Co-operative spokesman said the jobs were a mix of full and part-time and staff from Manor Lane had also transferred to the store which carries a wider choice of stock.

It also has better car parking and additional services including an in-house bakery and PayPoint payment terminal.
