ST GILES Church in Rowley is holding a marathon 12 hour talent show this Friday.

From 7am until 7pm different acts will be performing at the ]Church Road church including singers, poets, bell ringers, organists and comedians.

Joyce Walker, who is organising the talent showcase, said: "The response has been good with an eclectic range of talents coming forward from Rowley.

"The event takes place this Friday and runs from 7am until 7pm at St Giles Church and Church Hall and we want residents to come and enjoy the talent on show."

She added: "They may pop in at any time during the day and light refreshments are available."

Whiteheath, Highfields, Westminster, St Michael's and Blackheath schools are also taking part in the event with pupils singing, dancing and playing instruments between 11.15am and 2.15pm.

Brenda and Dennis Gascoigne will be holding a ballroom dancing demonstration at 2.15pm with residents being urged to try a few steps for themselves.
