A TWO-day blues festival is to be held at the Old Halesonians Rugby Club for the first time – attracting up to 3,000 fans.
The Stourbridge Blues Festival is moving from the town’s rugby club to its competitor’s bigger ground for the event on Friday and Saturday May 16 and 17.
The new venue has space for free over-night camping, a large outdoor stage and large marquee cover.
Fifteen blues acts will be performing, with US band Swampcandy headlining on the opening night.
Festival director Gary Child said: “On the following day we cram as much live music as is physically possible into 12 hours from mid-day.
“Sunjay Brayne kicks the main stage off and our headline band that night, bringing the festival to a close, is Virgil and The accelerators.”
The bands performing will include Brothers Groove and up and coming Sugar Mama.
The clubhouse will host an acoustic lounge giving young and new acts the chance to perform.
