Free rock climbing in Oldbury throughout March
10:08am Monday 17th March 2014 in News
Climbing sessions are on offer at just £1 a go this month at a new indoor climbing centre in Oldbury.
The sessions will encourage people to experience the thrill of climbing, bouldering and abseiling.
They are running on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm – 8:30 pm.
No experience is needed and Closer to the Edge will provide specialist instruction and equipment which is all included within the price.
Councillor Paul Moore, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “Climbing is one of the focus activities at Portway and we’re keen for more people to get involved in the sport.
"Climbing is fantastic exercise and requires a good degree of concentration.
"The climbing walls at Portway have been specially designed to offer climbing opportunities from complete beginner to experienced climber.
"I’d encourage everyone to come and have a go for themselves.”
Sessions will run during March only so there’s no time to hang around.
Booking is essential as there are only 12 sessions being run with a maximum of 12 places per session.
To book a place visit Portway Lifestyle Centre or call 0300 012 0121.
All participants must be at least 16 years old and sessions are limited to a maximum of two per person.
