  • "Very pleasing to learn of the variety of things for kids to see and do, in and around Dudley.

It’s so important to keep young hands and minds busy with worthwhile activities.

With that in mind, there is a collection of instructional videos designed to inform, occupy and entertain young magicians and beginners wishing to test the water.

Each video depicts magic tricks using everyday objects easily found in the average home, so there is no cost whatsoever in preparing and performing the content.

There is also a ‘how-to’ section to assist in mastering the effects.

For anyone interested in taking a peek, they can be found at:

I hope you find this useful."

Similar free family fun trails will also run until Saturday April 26 at Dudley Museum and Art Gallery – as part of Dudley Council’s Juniors at Museums (JAM) club.

Knights will also be polishing their armour and getting ready to entertain families at the cone as part of a Medieval Easter Bash on Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13 from 10am to 4pm.

There will also be two Holiday School sessions offering art and craft activities for kids aged eight and over, running from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Monday April 14 and Thursday April 24.

The day-long sessions, priced £22, must be booked in advance on 01384 815771.

Broadfield House is also running three interactive story, trail and craft activity sessions for children up to age five – on Wednesday April 16 at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm. The sessions cost £2.25 per child and must be booked in advance.

The glass museum is also hosting drop-in glass crafts session, priced £2.25, giving youngsters chance to paint a glass item on Sunday 13 April from 1.30 to 3.30pm.

Children aged four and over can also make a fused glass bunny ornament at sessions, costing £3.90, running on Friday April 25 at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Dudley Museum and Art Gallery, in Dudley town centre, is also running an Easter crafts drop-in session, priced £2.25, running from 10.30am to 3pm on Tuesday 15 April.

Councillor Tracy Wood, Dudley’s cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “There is a wide variety of activities on offer for families this Easter. We have a proud heritage in the borough of arts and glass making and I hope youngsters enjoy these opportunities to get stuck in.”

Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of all workshops except the Holiday School session.
