THE 300th birthday of poet and William Shenstone, who transformed Halesowen’s Leasowes from farmland to landscaped gardens, will be marked with the planting of snowdrops in the park.
The Friends of Leasowes Park are opening the cafe there on Easter Sunday, Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday from noon until 4pm and are asking visitors to help with the planting.
Friends’ secretary Eva Field said the snowdrops would be something for future generations to enjoy. “So do come along, plant some snowdrops and be rewarded with a free drink and a hot cross bun,” she added.
