POPULAR children’s character Peppa Pig will be visiting two borough libraries during the Easter holidays.

Children will be able to meet the much-loved character at Sedgley Library on April 26 at 10.30am and 2.30pm as the library launches a new under five's Saturday session.

Peppa will also visit Kingswinford Library and meet children with special educational needs and their families on Thursday April 24 from 10.30am.

Dudley Council-run libraries will also be hosting free holiday activities up until Saturday April 26.

Highlights include an Easter craft and story time at Dudley Library tomorrow (Sunday April 13) from 11.30am.

There will also be Easter crafts on Wednesday April 16 at Gornal Library from 3.30pm, and at Kingswinford Library from 10am - and from 2.30pm on Tuesday April 22.

Children will also be able to make Easter egg baskets and take part in an Easter egg hunt from 2pm on Thursday April 17 at Halesowen Library.

Andrea Pope-Smith, Dudley's director of adult, community and housing services, said: “We’ve got lots of specially organised activities to keep children and families busy this Easter.

"Libraries are a great place for children to spend time; there’s the opportunity to interact with other children during activities and the chance to discover their imagination in the many books available.”

The events are free but places must be booked in advance by calling the relevant library.
