A RECKLESS Rowley Regis smoker has avoided jail after burning his partner's chin after pushing her in the face with a fag in his hand.

The incident who left Dean Robbins' partner with a burn mark to her chin.

Judge Martin Walsh told 31-year-old Robbins: "This was a reckless assault, during the course of an argument and it

is not for me to adjudicate who was right or wrong you carried out this assault."

He added at Wolverhampton Crown Court: "Any offence of domestic violence in the home in my judgement passes the custodial threshold."

But he ruled he was able to allow Robbins of Newhall Road to keep his freedom after being told he loved his partner and she

wanted to continue their relationship.

Mr Nicholas Smith, defending, said: "He loves her deeply and is full of remorse for what he did and she wants him back. This

was more of a reckless act."

Robbins admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and he was given a 34 week jail term suspended for two years coupled with

two years Supervision.

The court was told there was a history of domestic abuse between the couple who blamed each other for what had taken place.
