Tickets to see UKIP leader Nigel Farage in Dudley now sold out

Halesowen News: Nigel Farage Nigel Farage

TICKETS to see UKIP party leader Nigel Farage MEP when he stops off in Dudley have now sold out.

Mr Farage, the face of the UK Independence Party, will be speaking at an open public meeting at Dudley Town Hall, St James Road, on Friday April 25 ahead of the forthcoming European elections.

A capacity crowd of 650 are expected to turn out for the event which follows a stop-off in the borough by the party's deputy leader Paul Nuttall - who opened UKIP's new campaign HQ in the Black Country, in Sedgley, on April 9.

Mr Farage, who celebrated victory after two TV debates against Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg, said he’s “very much looking forward” to visiting Dudley and outlining his argument for Britain to leave the EU.

West Midlands lead MEP candidate Jill Seymour, who is hosting the event, said: “The tickets to the event were snapped up by members of the public who recognise that the coalition Government and the Labour Party, have desperately let this country down.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Nigel in Dudley.

“UKIP is bucking a trend, while the membership of the Tories, Labour and the Liberal Democrats party plummets, our membership continues to increase. I am confident that we will do extremely well at the Euro and Local Elections.”

James Carver, fellow Euro election candidate in the West Midlands, said: “We are causing a political earthquake in British politics. UKIP is a breath of fresh air as we stand up for common sense and local communities.”

Borough based MEP candidate Bill Etheridge will also be at the event along with fellow West Midlands European election candidates Jim Carver, Phil Henrick, Michael Wrench, Michael Green and Lyndon Jones.

Mr Etheridge said: “To vote for the Liberal Democrats, Tories or the Labour Party, you get more EU regulation. UKIP is the only mainstream political party that is putting this country’s interests first.

“We fight on local issues, including defeating Dudley Council’s plans to introduce paid-for parking permits in residential streets near to Russells Hall Hospital.”
