A MOTORIST has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after a smash in Rowley Regis during the early hours of this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Ross, at just after 12.20am today (Saturday).

An ambulance together with a paramedic officer in a rapid response vehicle, the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and a MERIT doctor attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews treated a man in his forties after his vehicle left the road and collided with a wall.

“The patient was treated for serious head and chest injuries. He was anesthetised by a doctor at the scene and fully immobilised before being taken to hospital.

“The patient was conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

“The hospital was alerted to the serious condition of the patient.”
