THE search for new homes is predicted to boom over the Spring Bank Holiday, according to builders of an Oldbury development.

Morris Homes, which is developing The Forge, is expecting a surge in interest following analysis of visits to its website and developments across the region last year.

The research showed a spike in visitors of more than 399 per cent following the second Bank Holiday weekend in May 2013, compared to average daily visitor numbers that year.

Cindy Cade, regional sales director for Morris, said: “Spring is traditionally the best time of year to buy or sell a home, but our research shows that it’s this second Bank Holiday in May when the search really hots up.

“We’re expecting the Bank Holiday to be particularly busy this year as more people are feeling ever more confident about the market and are interested in using schemes such as Help to Buy.”
