DUDLEY folk can improve their fitness this summer by taking part in a guided walk on Sunday.

The walk has been organised through Network West Midlands and is designed to encourage more people to take up walking as a form of healthy and sustainable transport.

Walkers will be setting off from Dudley Leisure Centre at 11.15am and taking in a six-mile route that stops off at many local landmarks including the Black Country Museum and Wrens Nest Nature Reserve.

Free health checks and goodie bags will be on offer to walkers at the leisure centre from 10am and everyone completing the walk will receive a free seven day swimming pass for Dudley Leisure Centre in addition to a certificate.

John Millar, director of the urban environment, said: "Active travel, such as walking and cycling is a great way to improve fitness levels while saving money.

"The 'Discover Dudley' walk will show off Dudley's beautiful green spaces while demonstrating the health benefits of walking."
