GREEN-FIGERED members of a Halesowen allotments got their hands dirty this weekend during a mega litter-pick.
The group from Walton Allotments teamed up with members of the Halesowen Conservative party to give the allotments, Highfield Lane, Wall Well Lane, the Yemeni Centre, the youth club and the skateboard park a spring clean.
John Reynolds, chairman, Walton Allotments, said: In total 25 bags of litter were collected as well as a wheelbarrow, a chair, one dustbin, a 2.5 litre tin of Dulux Emulsion paint, a SD card, a spade, some hypodermic syringes and a number of part bottles of alcohol."
"Amongst the Walton Allotment Group were Sue and Andy Potter who recently won the William Shenstone Cup in the Dudley Allotment Competition and in the Conservative group were Councillors David Vickers, Andrea Goddard, Nick Gregory and Jenny Dunne."
He added: "Everyone involved agreed it was a job well done."
