PUBLIC services students from Halesowen College tested their fitness and knowledge taking part in range of competitions as part of a national competition.
The Halesowen team of Joe Poole, Jake Copestick, Tom Doughty, Kelsey Page, Richard Bromham, Sharni Clarke, Kieran Miles and George Carpenter got through to the semi-final of the tug-of-war contest and finished in second place in the high ropes challenge.
They also took part in a fire service hose-run, low ropes course, Royal Marines fitness challenge, crime scene investigation, orienteering, a drill challenge, field cooking competition and delivering a presentation on changes to immigration laws.
This was the first time Halsowen College had taken part in the contest for public service students at Brooklands College and they competed against 16 teams from around the country.
Alex Storey, public services divisional line manager, said: “The event was jam packed with different competitions and our team definitely rose to the occasion.
“We were really pleased to do so well and all the students worked so well as a team. We were very proud of their achievements.”
