WOODVIEW House Specialist Care Home in Halesowen is opening its doors on Friday as part of National Care Home Open Day.
Residents and staff at Woodview House will be on hand to give visitors tours of the Hagley Road home.
The home is owned by Shaw Healthcare which provides nursing and respite care and rehabilitation for older people, as well as specialist dementia care.
Karen Cooper, manager of Woodview House, said: “All of us at Woodview House are really looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors on National Care Home Open Day, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to show people some of the fantastic work we do.
“Many people still have misconceptions about care homes, and opening our doors to the local community is a great way to change people’s minds."
He added: "Woodview House is a really cheerful and positive place to be, and we hope lots of people will join us to have a look around, meet our residents, and see that for themselves.”
National Care Home Open Day is in its second year and was set up in order to challenge the negative perceptions around care homes.
