Black Country Housing Group got the World Cup fever started early by holding a mini-tournament in Rowley Regis.
The organisation marked its 40th anniversary by holding the Blackheath World Cup to raise funds for charity Loaves 'n' Fishes.
BCHG staff along with six teams drawn from local Blackheath businesses gathered at Goals in Rowley Regis for the five-a-side tournament.
As part of BCHG’s commitment to supporting the local community, the funds raised will help Loaves ‘n’ Fishes to provide furniture, household essentials and clothing to families and individuals living in poverty.
Loaves ‘n’ Fishes also had a team in the tournament.
Sparkys team from CL Electrical triumphed in the final, beating Weights and Measures on penalties in a close fought match.
The winners received the trophy from Blackheath Councillor Kerry Carmichael.
Amanda Tomlinson, chief executive of BCHG said: “We wanted our 40th Anniversary celebrations to be a community affair. The Blackheath World Cup involved a number of local businesses in the event and helped raise much needed funds for Loaves ‘n’ Fishes.
"I hope that everyone enjoyed the tournament as much as I did and my congratulations to the winning team.”
BCHG, founded in 1974, employs over 200 staff and provides quality, affordable homes, employment advice and personalised care and support services throughout the Black Country and Birmingham.
