TALENTED youngsters are being urged to enter the last heat of the Sandwell Wow Factor competition .

The Rowley heat of the competition is being held at Blackheath Library on Saturday, June 28.

Organisers are urging youngsters with a talent to enrol into the competition for the chance to win a two recording session in a top music studio.

Blackheath Library senior supervisor Elaine Williams said: "We want as many talented youngsters to enter the Wow Factor as we can.

"This is the Rowley heat so singers, dancers and musicians from Rowley Regis, Cradley Heath, Tividale, Blackheath and Brandhall are all welcome to compete."

The Wow Factor is being run across the borough by Sandwell Libraries and the final will be held in West Bromwich on Saturday, July 26.

There are two age categories for the competition, seven to 12-years-old and 13-years-old to 19-years-old.

Mrs Williams said: "We want to see what talent Rowley has so we want as many people to enter The Wow Factor as possible.

"All the proceeds will be going to Acorns Hospice so it is for a great cause."

She added: "The Blackheath Library event is also the heat for the Rowley Summer festival taking place on Saturday, July 26 on Blackheath High Street."

The Blackheath Libary heat is the last of six heats which started in May and included events in Oldbury, Great Barr, West Bromwich and Wednesbury.

Robert Hazel, Sandwell community library manager, added: "There's a wealth of talented young performers in Sandwell and this is a great opportunity to showcase our bright young stars with the Wow Factor as well as raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

The Rowley heat of The Wow Factor starts at 6.30pm on Saturday, June 28 at Blackheath Library.
