CRADLEY Heath choir Voices in Harmony is hoping to hit the high notes at its summer proms concert this weekend.

The Dudley Town Hall concert on Saturday at 7pm is the highlight of the popular choir's year.

Stephen Bradley, musical director of the choir, said “The concert is going to be a music extravaganza with over a hundred voices as we will be joining forces with the Marston Singers together with items from the Shirley Brass Band.

"The music will range from the classics to the shows and will include a sing-a-long of popular war time songs so there’ll be something for everyone and the evening will end with a traditional Proms style finale so bring your flags."

He added: "We are also going to have some fun.”

Internationally acclaimed singer Jonathan Veira, who has sang across the world for the last 26 years, is also performing on the night.

Mr Bradley added: “Jonathan’s ability as a musical chameleon – singing songs of great diversity – engages everyone.”

The compere for the evening is Michael Collie from BBC Midlands Today.

The 70-strong Voices in Harmony choir has raised more than £80,000 for various local and national charities since it was formed 15 years ago.

Mr Bradley added: "“This is an achievement of which we are very proud.
