A WEEKEND of music nostalgia, catering for diverse tastes, is planned in Cradley Heath with an 80s night and a commemoration of the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth.
Tudor tunes will be performed on traditional instruments in the historic Haden Old Hall by Night Watch on Saturday June 28 followed by 80s tribute band Kick up the 80s in concert the following afternoon.
Night Watch performs songs about fortune and fairies, love and loss, going mad and growing up, together with jigs, masques and Queen Elizabeth's favourite dance, all with an irreverent sense of humour.
The 80s gig will run from midday until 4pm on Sunday June 29 when there will also be children's entertainment, a fun fair, period quizzes and games, including a rubix cube challenge.
Staff will be dressing up as 80s characters and toys from the era will be on display in Haden Hill House.
Entrance to the event is free and families are invited to bring a picnic along to enjoy in the grounds of Haden Hill Park.
Tickets for the Night Watch concert, which starts at 7pm, cost £8 and are available from the house or by calling 01384 569 444.
