FOOTBALL mad youngsters at Halesowen CE Primary School celebrated the start the World Cup by donning kits and brushing up on their skills.

The children also got involved in flag making, singing football chants and even had an ethical debate about the World Cup being in Brazil.

PE co-ordinator Gregory Timmington said: "The children had a great time as we tried to fit the activities around their studies.

"We had a football coach come into the school and the children also had a lesson with a representative of Catholic aid agency CAFOD to explain about the work they do throughout the world."
