A ROMSLEY man has been arrested in Bromsgrove in connection with dealing heroin.

The man, who is in his 40s was detained by officers under the Misuse of Drugs Act after getting off a bus in Broad Street on Thursday morning.

Police officers recovered large quantity of suspected Class A drugs, believed to be heroin.

Inspector Sarah Corteen of West Mercia Police said: “Targeting drug dealers and disrupting the supply of drugs to our communities is a priority for the force.

“We would like to reassure Sidemoor residents that we will not tolerate this behaviour and are actively seeking the dealers committing these offences on their estates.

“We would like to appeal to anyone with information on drug dealing to contact either the police on the non-emergency number 101 or by ringing the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

“Even if it just a concern or a suspicion, we ask them to come forward, as each snippet can help us build a picture of what is going on. We take all reports seriously, investigate them thoroughly and if appropriate act on the information provided.”

The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply, and was released on police bail until August 28 pending further inquiries.
